Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MangoX (“we”, “us”, or “the Service”) collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the MangoX mobile application and related services. By using MangoX, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
MangoX is a location-based mobile platform that lets adult users check in at participating venues, view venue-based participation and ranking information, and use in-app participation features. Some session-based features allow participants in the same session to interact and connect with each other within the app. MangoX is intended for users aged 18 or older.
2. Adults only
MangoX is intended exclusively for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete that information.
3. Information we collect
The categories of information we collect from you are described in Sections 4 through 8 below. We do not collect any data not described in this Privacy Policy.
4. LINE Login and authentication
MangoX uses LINE Login for authentication. When you sign in with LINE, we receive:
- Your LINE user identifier.
- Your LINE display name.
- Your profile image (if you authorize it).
- Your email address (if you authorize it).
This information is used to create and authenticate your MangoX account. Your LINE password is never shared with MangoX.
5. Profile information
You may provide additional profile information, including:
- Nickname or display name within MangoX.
- Confirmation that you are 18 or older.
- Gender.
- A short self-introduction (if provided).
- Other profile fields the app exposes from time to time.
This information is stored on our servers and shown to other participants of your session as part of the Service.
6. Location and venue check-in
To support venue check-in and geofence-based session participation, MangoX collects your device location (GPS or equivalent) while you are using the relevant features.
- Location is used to confirm that you are physically at or near a participating venue.
- Location is used to associate you with the correct venue session for ranking and participation features.
- We do not continuously track your background location for advertising purposes.
- You can revoke location permissions in your device settings; doing so may disable check-in and related features.
7. Profile photo and automated image analysis
When you upload a profile photo, the image is stored on our servers and processed by automated image analysis — including third-party services such as AWS Rekognition. The analysis is used solely to assess the photo for:
- Basic image quality.
- Presence of a clearly visible face.
- Number of faces in the image.
- Suitability as a real profile photo.
- Detection of clearly inappropriate or unsafe content.
This analysis is not identity verification, and we do not use facial data to identify you outside the Service, to track you across other services, or to share biometric data with advertisers.
8. Interaction, ranking, and session data
As you use the Service, we collect interaction data including:
- Hearts you send and receive (sender, recipient, timestamp, session).
- Pick3 selections you make.
- In-app connection events between participants in the same session.
- Ranking snapshots, scores, and related ranking inputs for each session.
- Check-in and check-out records, session participation, and venue presence.
- Standard technical data such as device type, OS version, app version, IP address, and crash logs.
9. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate the Service: authenticate you, place you into the correct venue session, provide participation and ranking features, and enable in-app interaction between participants.
- Maintain photo and profile quality so the Service shows real, appropriate profiles to other participants.
- Detect and prevent fraud, impersonation, abuse, harassment, and unsafe behavior.
- Monitor service performance, debug issues, and improve features through aggregated analytics.
- Send operational notifications related to your account or session.
- Comply with applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
10. Sharing with service providers
We share data only in the following limited cases:
- Other participants in your session. Your nickname, profile photo, gender, and relevant interaction signals (such as ranking position and participation status) are visible to other participants in the same MangoX session, consistent with the design of the Service.
- Infrastructure and service providers. For example: Supabase for backend storage and authentication infrastructure, LINE for sign-in, AWS (including AWS Rekognition) for image storage and image analysis, and our hosting, logging, and analytics providers. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards.
- Legal requests. We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of MangoX, our users, or the public.
11. Data retention
We retain account, profile, and usage data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards as needed for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, safety, legal compliance, and service improvement. Profile photos and uploaded images are retained while your account is active and removed within a reasonable period after deletion of your account.
12. Account deletion and data deletion requests
Full in-app account deletion may be rolled out in a later release. In the meantime, you can request deletion of your MangoX account and personal data by emailing support@mangox.app from the email address associated with your account, or by including your LINE display name and the approximate date of your last check-in. We will process the request within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention obligations.
13. Your choices and permissions
You may at any time:
- Stop using the Service.
- Update or remove profile fields via in-app controls where available.
- Revoke location, camera, or photo permissions via your device settings.
- Sign out of LINE Login within the device, which will also sign you out of MangoX.
- Request deletion of your MangoX account and associated personal data (see Section 12).
14. Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (including transport encryption, server-side access controls, and least-privilege database policies) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. International processing
MangoX may process and store data in countries outside your country of residence, including in regions where our infrastructure providers (such as Supabase and AWS) operate. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations under the safeguards described in this Policy.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify users through the app or by other reasonable means.
